CPD Requirements

Everything you need to know

CPD for Migration Agents

Migration agents are required to complete 10 CPD points to apply for their annual registration renewal with the Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority (O’MARA). Of those 10 points, one mandatory CPD activity must be included. CPE Migration offers two mandatory modules, namely Ethics & Professional Practice and File Management.

Please note: First year agents must complete the Practice Ready Programme (PRP) in their first year of agent registration before being able to successfully claim CPD points through our programs.

For the latest MARA CPD requirements, please visit the MARA website for further information.

CPD for Lawyers

CPE Migration can offer CPD points for lawyers’ Law Society or Bar requirements.

As our courses are run by a practising barrister, they accrue points across the various CPD regimes for lawyers. Our migration seminars qualify for CLE points with Australian law societies that utilise self-accreditation systems. As of February 2017, we are the only migration law activity provider also an accredited provider for the WA Legal Practice Board.

Migration agents with a legal practising certificate no longer need to complete MARA-approved activities. However our Ethics & Professional Practice and File Management modules will cover the mandatory “Ethics” and “Business Management” strands for legal certificate CPD requirements. Substantive law and migration specialist accreditation points can also be obtained by completing CPE Migration’s available modules.
