TRA Experience Pathway May Return!

 

Pathway D being the experience pathway for skill assessment by the Trades Recognition Authority (TRA) was suspended in September 2007, but will return in a revamped format possibly as early as July 2008.

In the meantime pathway B, the informal apprenticeship may be the way to obtain a positive skill assessment from TRA.

The other alternative is using Registered Training Authorities (RTO’s) which can assess skills and issue nationally recognised qualifications in Australia.

National Training Information Service (see www.ntis.gov.au) has a list of all RTO’s. It means getting your client to Australia, but may be quite easy for those from ETA eligible passport countries. The following are the ETA eligible passports[1],
