LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR CHARACTER IN MIGRATION LAW (ACTIVITY DN80)

• Understand the mandatory visa cancellation process including revocation of cancellations
• Understand the general provisions for visa cancellations and refusals on character grounds under s 501, including setting aside and substitution of decisions
• Recognise the differences between the mandatory visa cancellation regime and the discretionary visa cancellation/refusal regime under s 501
• Identify when a case should be referred to a litigation solicitor or barrister for possible judicial review
